Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, advance booking is strongly recommended to guarantee your spot, especially during high season (December-April) and holidays. You can book directly online, by phone at +506 2637-6020, or by email at info@vlscr.com. Booking direct guarantees the best available rate and includes free hotel pickup from Jaco, Los Suenos and nearby areas.
What time is the Park open?
Vista Los Suenos Adventure Park is open daily from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Most tours have a first departure around 8:00 am, which is also the recommended start time for wildlife viewing and cooler temperatures, especially during the rainy season (July-November). Guests should plan to check in at least 15-20 minutes before their scheduled tour departure.
Should I bring a camera?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own camera or phone, at your own risk and responsibility. Professional photographers are on-site during all tours and take photos throughout the experience, which guests can view and purchase at the end – the more common option for hands-on tours like ziplining, ATV riding or canyoning, where carrying a personal camera isn’t practical.
What happens if it rains?
Costa Rica’s rainy season runs roughly July through November, with afternoon showers being typical in the rainforest near Jaco. Morning tours (8:00 am start) are recommended during these months, since mornings are usually drier. Light to moderate rain does not stop tours – activities like ziplining, ATV riding and horseback riding continue safely in the rain.
Are tours canceled if it rains?
Tours are only paused for lightning, strong winds or torrential rain – in that case guests can wait for it to clear or, if there isn’t time, reschedule to another day at no extra cost. Outside of a genuine safety hazard, no tour is canceled for rain alone.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are issued for cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled tour time. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, or no-shows, are generally not eligible for a refund. Rescheduling to a different day or time is usually possible with more flexibility, particularly for bad weather. Full cancellation terms are listed on the park’s policies page.
Is there a place to eat at the Park?
Yes, Restaurant el Bosque serves food daily at the park: breakfast starts at 7:00 am, buffet lunch starts at 11:00 am, and the afternoon menu switches to fast food and typical Costa Rican dishes, with drink specials including 2-for-1 cocktails and beers. It’s part of the Jungle Food & Drinks dining experience, designed for guests to eat between or after adventure activities without leaving the property.
Is there a place to shower and change after the tours?
Yes, the park has free showers and changing rooms available for all guests, so you can clean up after ziplining, ATV riding or canyoning before heading back to your hotel or continuing your day in Jaco.
Where can I park my car?
We have safe parking for you to leave your car during the tours.
Where can I leave my stuff?
The park offers free lockers, requiring only a refundable $10 deposit that’s returned when the key is handed back – a safe place to leave valuables, phones and extra clothing during your tour.
Is there a souvenir shop at the Park?
Yes, the park has a Britt Shop on-site selling Costa Rican coffee, chocolate and souvenirs – a convenient stop before or after your tour.

Do I have to do much hiking?
No significant hiking is required. A tractor transports guests up to the first platform, so the canopy tour is accessible even for guests who aren’t regular hikers.
What is the weight limit for the Canopy Zipline?
The standard weight limit is 250 pounds (113 kg). Guests over 6 feet tall who weigh up to roughly 260 pounds can typically still participate safely, since height helps offset the extra weight on the cable system. Guides fit each guest with a full-body harness before starting on the 12-platform, 10-cable course.
What do I wear for the tour?
Closed-toe shoes and light, athletic clothing that can get sweaty are recommended for the zipline canopy tour. Sandals, flip-flops or open-toe shoes aren’t allowed on the platforms for safety.
What happens if I start the tour and do not want to continue?
If this happens, there are several ways to abandon the zip line tour and go back down on the tractor (we will not refund the tour is this happens)
Are kids safe on the tour?
Yes, children as young as 4 years old can do the zipline canopy tour, each fitted with a properly sized full-body harness. Certified bilingual guides accompany every group and control speed into each platform, so kids are never braking or landing on their own.
How high are the platforms?

How safe is the Canopy Zipline?
The zipline canopy tour is one of the park’s safest activities, run by certified bilingual guides who control speed into each platform and check harnesses before every departure. The course spans 3.5 km across 12 platforms with ocean views over Herradura Bay.
Can I do the tour if I am afraid of heights?
Yes – guests with a fear of heights regularly complete the zipline canopy tour, and guides provide extra support and reassurance at every platform. A tractor takes guests up to the first platform, so no strenuous hiking is required to start. If a guest decides not to continue partway through, there are alternate ways to exit the course and return by tractor, though the tour fee is non-refundable in that case.

Yes, the correct position is one hand on the cable, but if you do not brake, the guides control your speed when you come into the platform.

Can kids do the Horseback?
Yes, children from 4 years old can join the horseback riding tour. Kids aged 4 and 5 ride accompanied by a parent on the same horse; older children typically ride their own horse under guide supervision, since the park’s horses are calm and easy to handle.
Will kids go alone on the horse?
Children aged 4 and 5 can join as long as they are accompanied by their parents.
Will I see wildlife on the tour:

Are the horses on the tour friendly?
Yes, the park’s horses are calm and well-trained, and no prior riding experience is needed. Horses move at a controlled walking pace throughout the tour, and running is not permitted for safety.
What do I wear for the tour?
Closed-toe shoes, long pants (swimming clothes can go under your clothes since we do not have a changing room at the waterfalls)
Can we run with the horses?
No, running is not allowed on the horseback tour for safety – horses move at a controlled walking pace throughout, guided by the park’s staff.
How big is the waterfall?
It’s about 2 meters deep, and there is a large natural swimming pool.
How long is the hike to the waterfalls?
It’s a 10-minute short hike, with only about 10 steps.
Can we jump in the waterfalls?
We do not recommend to jump, but there are areas that you can do so.

How old do you have to be to drive?
Drivers must be at least 18 years old and present a valid driver’s license. Passengers of any qualifying age can ride along; younger children ride as passengers rather than drivers.
Do I need a credit card for the vehicle deposit?
Yes, a VISA, Mastercard or American Express credit card is required as a deposit to participate in the ATV or buggy tours.
Am I responsible for the damages to the vehicle?
Yes, after completing the mandatory test drive on the park’s private practice track, guests become responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle during the tour.
What do I wear for the tour?
Closed-toe shoes, and light clothes, (clothes and shoes will get really dirty on this tour and swimming clothes can go under your clothes since we do not have a changing room at the waterfalls)
Can kids do the ATV tour?
Yes, kids aged 4 to 8 ride as passengers in a buggy, and children 9 and older can ride on a double ATV with an adult driver.
Are the vehicles easy to drive?
Yes, all vehicles are automatic. Every guest completes a supervised test drive on the park’s private practice track before heading out on the trail, so no prior ATV experience is needed.

If I have difficulty walking, can I participate in this tour?
Yes, guests with mobility limitations can be driven directly to the chocolate station to skip most of the walk.
What is this tour about?
Guests take a short nature walk – about 300 meters, mostly flat – to a chocolate station, where a guide demonstrates traditional artisanal chocolate-making from raw cacao. Most of the tour takes place at the station itself rather than on the trail.
Will I be able to eat chocolate?
Yes, during the tour you get to taste chocolate paste, hot cocoa, fruit dipped in chocolate, and finished chocolate samples of all kinds.

What is Canyoning?
The canyoning tour travels through the canyon of the river using a variety of techniques: walking, scrambling, jumping, abseiling (rappelling) and swimming. It’s rated MEDIUM to HIGH difficulty and takes about 3 hours, so guests should be reasonably fit and comfortable in water.

Is this tour difficult?
The difficulty level of this tour is MEDIUM to HIGH. Guests need to be able to hike about 15 minutes, climb stairs, and swim – it’s more physically demanding than the park’s zipline or horseback tours.
Is Canyoning the same as Rappelling?
Rappelling (abseiling) is one part of the canyoning tour, alongside hiking, scrambling, jumping and swimming through the river canyon – canyoning is the broader activity, rappelling is one technique used within it.
Am I going to get wet on this Tour?
Yes, you get completely wet on the tour, but we are in the tropics so you should never be too cold.
Will there be snacks on the tour?
Yes, guides will have fruits, energy bars and water on the tour.
What happens if I start the tour and do not want to continue?
If this happens, we would try to evacuate you on the closes exit (we will not refund the tour is this happens)
