Your journey begins with a scenic 90-minute drive through lush rainforest, charming villages, and winding streams in the rural region of San Gerardo de Dota. Upon arrival at the launch site, you’ll receive a comprehensive safety briefing and practice session before boarding your raft. Depending on your group size, you’ll ride in either 6-passenger or 2-passenger rafts, always guided by expert instructors. For added safety, a professional kayaker will accompany the group throughout the expedition.
The Savegre River’s unique combination of rapids, twists, and calm passages guarantees both adrenaline and relaxation. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to admire abundant wildlife, take refreshing swims, and rest on the riverbanks surrounded by untouched rainforest.
At the end of the rafting journey, a 30-minute drive will take you back to base camp, where you can change into dry clothes and enjoy a delicious, traditional Costa Rican meal.
