Best One Day Tours from San José Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a fantastic country to visit, It’s full of beautiful landscapes, unique animals and friendly people. It’s a small country, but transportation is difficult so it’s hard to see everything in a short trip. If you happen to be able to take 3 weeks to visit, by all means, do. If you are like most of us and have a hard time getting a week off of work, you should do how I did. I decided to base myself in the capital of San José in order to see a lot from one central point.
Best One Day Tours from San Jose
From my personal opinion I would like to mention the best one day tours from San José that can easily fit into a week’s vacation.
La Paz Waterfall Garden
First, everyone told me to not miss the Waterfalls In Costa Rica, and they were absolutely right. I loved my visit to La Paz Waterfall Garden which is a privately owned nature park and animal sanctuary, home of lots of toucans, butterflies, monkeys and frogs. It is located about an hour of San José. Because it is a rain forest, expect to get a little wet. It is better wear a rain jacket!!
Toucan Rescue Ranch
Another wonderful one day tour from San José was the Toucan Rescue Ranch. This is not profit organization, dedicated to the care, rehabilitation and release of the animals. Animals come to the ranch because of illness or injury. The animals receive medical treatment and rehabilitation with the goal of eventual release back into the wild. The animals that can’t be released stay at the Ranch full time.
Doka Coffee Plantation or Britt Coffee Tour
If you are a coffee lover, you can’t skip a day tour of one of the country’s many coffee plantations. Both Doka Coffee Plantation and Britt Coffee Tour are near San José and are easy day or half day trips. At the end of your tour, they will offer samples of their signature blends as well as the option to try other organic varieties of coffee.
Looking for adventure and pure adrenaline in a one day tour from San José??
Well, Vista Los Sueños Adventure Park is the right place. Because It’s about an hour of San José city, but was totally worth it. They pick you up at 7:00 am/8:00 am depending on your hotel location. Along the way you will enjoy some breathtaking views of the mountains and then you will get to stop at the famous Tarcoles River, where you will have the opportunity to view and take photos of crocodiles in their environment. The next stop is “Vista Los Sueños Adventure Park.
Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the best Zip line tours in Costa Rica and you will be able to choose between our Horseback Riding to the Waterfalls or an ATV jungle adventure into the rain forest. This park has one of the better Zip line courses I have done!
There is so much to do in Costa Rica but these 4 activities are sure to not disappoint!
